Installing Turn Signal Switch On F-150

Ford’s turn signal is an outstanding technology in the automotive world. It not only guides you but also makes others aware of your turning. If you are a good driver, you must use this device.

You are probably reading this article because you must change the turn signal switch. But, you got confused about the different color wires of the turn signal.

  • The tools you need are a ratchet, a 7/32” socket, an 8mm socket, a pick, a flat head screwdriver, an 8mm wrench, a T50 Torx bit, and two jaw pullers. 
  • Firstly, you need to disconnect the battery cables. To probe the terminals, use the flathead screwdriver.
  • Pull out and uncover the fuse box to remove the red 10 amp fuse. You will find it underneath the glove box on the passenger side. 
  • Now you have to remove the steering wheel. You can do it by unscrewing 8mm bolts inside the plastic cover of the steering column.
  • To remove the steering wheel fully, you must detach the harness, the bottom tab, the T50 bolt, and the 7/32” bolt.
  • Pull down the bottom trim piece of the column to remove the old turn signal. 
  • Remove the 7/32” bolts from the top and bottom trim pieces. Then disconnect the three wiring harnesses of the turn signal switch.
  • Finally, you need to install the new turn signal switch. Connect the harness with the new switch and reinstall everything you disconnected.

Replacing Turn Signal Bulb On F-150

  • Finally, you need to install the new bulb. Press the bulb into the assembly, then put it back into the headlight.
