The Best New Car Deals this March
Cars are expensive, there’s no getting away from it. But we love them and need them, so we want to find ways to make the joys of ownership as cheap as possible. One sound way to stretch your budget this March is by taking advantage of a carmaker’s special new car purchase deal.
There are generally two main types of buying incentives offered. Cashback and Financing. A cash-back deal simply lowers the price of the car you’re buying. A financing deal reduces the amount of interest you’ll have to pay on your auto loan. The best financing deals are 0% offers, though any dealership deal with a rate that’s below bank rates or market rates will save you money.
It’s important to remember that dealer inventory will be limited, and not all dealers will have the advertised vehicles in stock or a wide selection. Sometimes the offers are because the models have less than desirable colors or trims chosen by customers who bailed. You’ll usually need a great credit score to qualify for financing offers, and most deals come with strict expiration dates, terms and conditions. In addition, some are location specific and are only available to local buyers.
Here are 12 great deals to chew over.
2024 Kia Forte
Purchase Deal: 2.9% financing for 48 months
This month’s 2024 Kia Forte financing deal offers a four-year loan at an interest rate that’s less than half of the national average. This makes it a great deal. In our MotoPickers rankings the Kia Forte earns a mid-pack spot. It hasn’t the engine power or sublime handling of some rivals, but it has a roomy five-seat cabin, a good trunk and fine fuel economy for a non-hybrid sedan.
It’s also got good residuals. It generally wins out as an excellent long-term value proposition due to its low starting price and exceptional warranty coverage. Its powertrain warranty is good for 10 years or 100,000 miles. Kia offers the Forte with a choice of either a 147-horsepower four-cylinder paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission or a 201-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder matched with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.
2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee L
Purchase Deal: Up to $3,000 cash back
Cash-back deals can be enticing options for any budget, especially for all-cash buyers and those with high-value trade-ins. There’s a great one available this month on Jeep Grand Cherokee L trims, with dealers offering $3,000 cashback.
Buyers can choose a 293-horsepower V6 or a 357-horsepower V8 and either rear or 4WD. All Grand Cherokee L powertrains include an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The Grand Cherokee L offers three rows of seats and can carry as many as seven people. Its cabin provides a true luxury experience. An easy-to-use 8.4-inch touch-screen infotainment system comes standard, with a 10.1-inch screen and a 10.25 inch front passenger infotainment screen available as optional extras. (We would take it.) 2024 Genesis G80
Purchase Deal: 3.49% financing for 60 months
The 2024 G80 by Genesis is a midsize sedan that proves you can get a lot for not a lot. This is a car that proves you don’t have to go bust to drive a vehicle that competes with the world’s luxury marques. This month, it’s an even better deal, with a financing offer that’s good until the end of the month. We consider the G80 to be an excellent car by any measure. It features a spacious five-seat cabin outfitted with top-notch materials, including synthetic leather on lower trims and top-grade genuine leather on high-spec models. A terrific 14.5-inch touch-screen infotainment system supplies all the functions you need.
Engine wise, Genesis offers a trio of powertrains for the G80, including turbocharged four-cylinder and V6 gas engines and a 365-horsepower battery-electric setup. It employs a refined suspension, better suited to cruising than twisting, in truth, but fun regardless.
2024 Toyota Highlander
Purchase Deal: As low as 3.49% financing for 60 months
Toyota is offering a 3.49% financing deal on some trims of the 2024 Highlander. Other low deals are also offered, with 3.99% financing deals for 48 months available on different trim models.
The 2024 Highlander claims a spot in the lower half of our midsize SUV rankings, but it is not a bad vehicle. It offers two rows of spacious seating and a third row that’s best left to shopping bags or small children. All Highlanders come standard with a comprehensive Toyota Safety System package of advanced driver assistance and safety technologies. The Highlander financing deals are good until the end of March.
2024 Chevrolet Equinox
Purchase Deal: 2.99% financing for 60 months
The 2024 Equinox doesn’t get near the top of our rankings, but like the Highlander it is not a bad car and with this good deal it’s worth considering. It is terrific value with this deal, and its space levels are actually really strong, with five adults being no problem. It also has wireless support for Apple and Android.
All Equinox models are outfitted with a 175-horsepower four-cylinder turbo matched to a six-speed automatic transmission and front or all-wheel drive. It’s more than powerful enough for normal life, and the powertrain provides fuel-economy estimates that are a bit above average.
2024 Acura RDX
Purchase Deal: 3.9% financing for 60 months
The 2024 Acura RDX is perhaps getting on a bit. No matter; this means you can probably squeeze out a very good deal. You may even get a better deal than the one offered.
The RDX is a terrific SUV. In our luxury compact SUV rankings, the RDX claims a spot near the head of the class. It’s powered by a delightful 272-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder engine that is coupled to a 10-speed automatic transmission. It offers a refined ride and a pinch of sportiness, especially when fitted with AWD. In addition, the interior is still nice and Acura fits the RDX with a 10.2-inch infotainment system managed by a center console-mounted trackpad. Its cargo area is also good and is larger than you find in many competing crossovers.
2024 Ram 1500
Purchase Deal: 1.9% financing for 36 months plus $1,000 bonus cash
The 2024 Ram 1500 is a wonderful pick-up. It is a joy. Ram is offering 1.9% financing on certain BigHorn models with as much as $1,000 bonus cash. These are really worth looking into.
The Ram 1500 is one of the roomiest and best-equipped pick-ups in the market Available in extended and crew cab models, it comes with a sophisticated independent rear suspension that provides a more refined ride than most rival trucks. Buyers have several engine options, including gas-powered V6 and V8 engines and a V6 turbodiesel. All are matched with eight-speed automatic transmissions. Totally recommended.
2024 Honda Ridgeline
Purchase Deal: 1.9% financing for 48 months
This month’s 2024 Honda Ridgeline financing deals could see you pocket back thousands of dollars in saved interest over the life of your car loan than if you took a market rate bank loan. The best deal is 1.9% financing for 48 months, but Honda will also offer you 2.9% financing for up to 60 months and 3.9% for up to 72 months.
The Ridgeline claims the top spot in our ranking of compact pick-up trucks. It’s absolutely worth looking into. It offers a roomy five-seat cabin and a ride that’s more like a car. Properly equipped, the Honda pickup can tow up to 5,000 pounds. All Ridgelines feature an 8-inch infotainment system that’s starting to show its age, as is the overall interior design. The truck includes a modest 5 feet 4 inch bed with a lockable trunk underneath. It’s a nice touch.
2024 Mitsubishi Outlander
Purchase Deal: 2.9% financing for 60 months
The Outlander is available until the end of March with an excellent 2.9% financing deal. Though it earns a spot in the lower half of our compact SUV rankings, the Outlander is still a good SUV. It has a three-row interior, with the third row offering enough room for kids. It also includes a class leading warranty, so you’ll have no long term worries, with powertrain coverage for 10 years or 100,000 miles.
The Outlander is powered by a 181-horsepower four-cylinder engine that provides enough power for most daily tasks, but it can heave a bit on the open road. It’s paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission and front- or all-wheel drive.
2024 Hyundai Kona Electric
Purchase Deal: 2.9% financing for 48 months
There aren’t many great deals on electric cars this month, but an exception is the 2.9% financing deal available on the 2024 Kona Electric. Hyundai are being generous and are also offering a 3.9% deal for up to 60 months, or a 4.9% deal for up to 72 months. This is decent and is still below market base rates.
The Kona Electric is a battery-electric subcompact SUV with a range of 258 miles on a single charge. Its single-motor electric powertrain makes 201 horsepower and can zoom it from zero to 60 mph in six seconds. Depending on the trim level you buy, you’ll get an 8-inch or 10.25-inch touch-screen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. This particular crossover seats five, but not in ample space. The back seat is tight for taller passengers and almost every competitor offers more room for storage and cargo. Still, the finance deal is good.
2024 Mazda CX-9
Purchase Deal: 0% financing for 36 months
Mazda is offering this brilliant 0% rate to move the remaining 2024 Mazda CX-9 three-row crossovers off dealer lots. Despite its age, the CX-9 is still a really effective car. Unlike most midsize crossovers, it has sharp and zippy handling from a suspension setup tuned for driving enthusiasts. A 227-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder engine provides power, and all-wheel drive comes standard. Depending on the interior you choose the CX-9 seats six or seven, which is also a boon. The cabin has a feeling of comfort bordering on the luxurious, but without the high asking price of others. It comes standard with a long list of advanced safety and driver assistance technologies, and several more are available. This is a really great deal.
2024 Lincoln Corsair
Purchase Deal: 3.9% financing for 60 months plus $2,000 bonus cash
This deal is running until April 3. The smallest member of Lincoln’s all-SUV lineup, the 2024 Corsair is very fine and sits at the top end of its peers in comparative rankings. It’s available with a choice of a 250-horsepower turbo-four, a 295-horsepower turbo four or a 266-horsepower plug-in hybrid powertrain. It can be chosen with either front or all-wheel drive. There’s room for five in the Corsair’s luxe cabin and every Corsair is fitted with an 8-inch SYNC 3 touch-screen infotainment system.

Another really cool way to save money is by purchasing a light-mileage, gently used certified pre-owned car with warranty coverage backed by the vehicle’s original manufacturer. This can give you the lion’s share of a warranty, but without the tax costs of buying a brand new car.
