2025 Toyota Camry Review
By Damon Minks
| Updated 3 Days Ago
Similar to the Corolla, Toyota’s Camry is known for its reliability, value, and practicality. My first car was a blue Toyota Camry, and it lasted well over 300,000 miles, including a cross-country trip. The Camry is a mid-size sedan, and while this segment has been shrinking recently, it was the car class’ most popular vehicle in 2023. Toyota’s Camry isn’t as old as the Corolla, but it’s been in production since 1983.
MotoPickers Rating: 7.7/10
The 2025 Camry starts at $28,400 and is exclusively hybrid. Separate changes include refreshed interior/exterior styling in addition to more wireless and driver-assistance features. The Camry’s 2025 production year is part of the model’s ninth generation.
Upsides associated with the 2025 Camry include:
- Quality fuel economy
- Serene and spacious interior
- Easy ride feel
- Increased power from its hybrid setup
- Adept at soaking up road imperfections like bumps
However, our review will also investigate its downsides, such as engine noise, seat comfort, steering, and more. The 2025 Camry’s comparable mid-size rivals are:
- Honda’s Accord
- Nissan’s Altima
- Hyundai’s Sonata
- Kia’s K5
- Subaru’s Legacy
- Volkswagen’s Passat
- Chevrolet’s Malibu
Our 2025 Camry guide’s sections will include comparisons to these competitors so you can better understand its market position. Learn more about this new Toyota below.
Exterior spotlight
The 2025 Camry sits with a wide stance and somewhat muscular exterior. One design element supplying this mid-size sedan with individual character is the lower portion of its sloping roofline. Opting for an XLE 2025 Camry gives you 18” black and machined-finished wheels complemented by chrome accents and a dark metallic front grille. All wheels span from 16” to -19” and have designs like silver-painted alloy, black-finished alloy, tow-tone machined with a black finish, and smoked gray and black-finished alloys.
The XSE trim is sportier with its 19” wheels, aerodynamic air ducts, and color-synchronizing mesh front grille. Other grille options include black horizontal bar, black sport mesh, and dark metallic gray horizontal bar designs. Headlights and taillights come standard with LED technology, and side mirrors feature standard heating.
This Toyota offers a wide range of exterior colors, which consist of:
- Ocean Gem
- Heavy Metal
- Ice Cap
- Celestial Silver Metallic
- Midnight Black Metallic
- Reservoir Blue, Supersonic Red
- Wind Chill Pearl
- Underground
- Heavy Metal with Midnight Black Metallic roof
- Ocean Gem with Midnight Black Metallic roof
- Wind Chill Pearl with Midnight Black Metallic roof
- Supersonic Red with Midnight Black Metallic roof
Rain-sensing windshield wipers are optional, and the single exhaust offers available dual chrome tips. Neither the power moonroof nor the panoramic glass roof are standard. The windshield features an acoustic noise-reducing design, but the front side glass receives this sound treatment as an upgrade. Those who prefer darkened exterior aesthetics can opt for a black rear lower diffuser, which also comes in gloss-black, black rear Camry lettering, and black window trim instead of chrome. The rear spoiler can be color-keyed or black.
Quick competition comparison: exterior
Honda’s Accord and Nissan’s Altima contain exteriors with more conservative approaches than the 2025 Camry’s bold lines. They also lack the 2025 Camry’s two-tone color options. Other rivals with less dramatic exteriors include Chevrolet’s Malibu, Volkswagen’s Passat, and Subaru’s Legacy—establishing the 2025 Camry as a leader in its segment regarding outside design flair.
Interior close-up
The 2025 Camry’s upholstery options include fabric, synthetic SofTex leather, and genuine leather. The trunk’s cargo capacity is 15.1 cubic feet (cu. ft.), which is good for the mid-size sedan segment. Dual-zone automatic climate control with an air filter and humidity sensor is standard, and there’s a competitive amount of front/rear legroom.
Drivers can add some character to the interior with the available aluminum sport pedals, leather-trimmed steering wheel, and leather-trimmed shift knob. Ambient cabin lighting is, unfortunately, optional alongside features like heated and ventilated front seats with driver’s seat position memory. While the cabin is spacious, the front seats could use some additional comfort, and heated seats aren’t standard in all grades.
Quick competition comparison: interior
Honda’s Accord and Volkswagen’s Passat offer more rear legroom than the Camry. However, their materials feel less upscale. Front seat comfort is a priority for many drivers, so if you frequently embark on longer drives, you may want to consider Nissan’s Altima as an alternative with its Zero Gravity front seats. Hyundai’s Sonata has a more contemporary interior, which is most evident in areas like the center console but offers less legroom. Kia’s K5 offers less rear legroom, but its front row boasts a sleeker presentation.
Subaru’s Legacy supplies more front and rear legroom than the 2025 Camry, so if you’re seeking a competitor with a larger cabin, this may suit your driving needs. If you decide to go with the 2025 Camry, some of its material options, like red-colored seating, create an appealing contrast alongside black interior trim. The 2025 Camry’s interior can feel plain if you select a cabin with a mostly gray design.
Power and performance
Fuel economy is one of the 2025 Camry’s most significant performance perks. This mid-size Toyota sedan provides 44-53 MPG in the city and 43-51 MPG on the highway. Drivers can choose a front-wheel drive (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD) configuration. The AWD system sends torque to the rear wheels when sensing front-wheel slippage.
All grades deliver 184 horsepower, an increase from previous hybrid iterations, and 163 lb.-ft. of torque. Net horsepower spans from 225 to 232. This Camry’s ride feels smooth, but the steering feels somewhat unresponsive, and the engine can sound rough at higher speeds. Toyota has also gotten rid of the Camry’s V-6 engine, but we don’t anticipate this to be a significant pain point for potential buyers.
The 2025 Camry contains a continuously variable transmission (CVT), and drive modes include Sport, Eco, Normal, and EV. Independent MacPherson strut front suspension with a stabilizer bar and multi-link rear suspension with a stabilizer bar are standard, along with front strut tower bracing. However, you can select the available Independent MacPherson strut front suspension with a stabilizer bar and multi-link rear suspension with a stabilizer bar, which includes sport-tuned shock absorbers and springs and front strut tower bracing.
Quick competition comparison: power and performance
Honda’s Accord offers more steering feedback than the 2025 Camry but less fuel efficiency. Nissan’s Altima falls short in horsepower with a range of 182-188 and also presents worse mileage. Drivers can find comparable efficiency with the Hyundai Sonata’s range of hybrid options, which also provide a higher maximum horsepower of 290. Kia’s K5 matches the Sonata’s 290 maximum horsepower but won’t supply as much fuel efficiency. Those prioritizing optimal traction may want to look toward Subaru’s Legacy, which has standard AWD.
Tech overview
The 2025 Camry outperforms models like last year’s Toyota Corolla in the tech category. It has standard wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and charging, which foster less cabin clutter and convenience. You can also gain better audio streaming through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto by upgrading to the available 9-speaker JBL sound system with a subwoofer and amplifier. The central touchscreen display measures 8” in its standard configuration or 12.3” in its optional dimension.
Drivers can more thoroughly equip the 2025 Camry’s interior with tech by selecting the available 12.3” digital gauge cluster with customizable presentations and the optional head-up display (HUD). The HUD digitally projects vital driving information, such as navigation directions and current speed, onto the windshield within the driver’s line of sight for less distraction behind the wheel.
Toyota also offers an available panoramic view monitor, which allows you to receive a 360-degree view of your vehicle’s surroundings on the touchscreen display via four cameras. This feature additionally provides an overhead view of your car to assist during instances like entering and exiting parking spaces.
The 2025 Camry is equipped with a healthy selection of available connected services, such as remote connect, which helps you find your vehicle from devices like your smartphone. Safety Connect gives 2025 Camry drivers the ability to press a button and access services like 24/7 roadside assistance, while Drive Connect enhances navigation with cloud navigation and an intelligent assistant, in addition to live agent support.
Keeping on top of your maintenance is easier with Service Connect, which supplies reminders when it’s time for routine work like oil changes. Toyota tosses in a complimentary three-month trial for SiriusXM. Similar to exterior design, the 2025 Camry is a leader amongst competition on the tech front thanks to appealing features such as wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay, in addition to a large 12.3” display option.
Safety capabilities
Toyota’s Camry has received the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s) highest crash protection rating of Top Safety Pick+. The NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration), which also evaluates crash protection capabilities, has not yet rated the 2025 Camry. Still, it’ll likely achieve the organization’s top score of five stars, considering the IIHS’ verdict
Standard safety features
The 2025 Camry’s standard safety capabilities are grouped under the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 system, which features:
- Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection
- Proactive Driving Assist
- Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist
- Lane Tracing Assist
- Automatic High Beams
- Road Sign Assist
- Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control
- Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert
The Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection scans for impending frontal crashes with bicyclists, pedestrians, and other vehicles. When encountering a high-risk situation, drivers will receive audible and visual warnings before the system activates automatic braking. Proactive Driving Assist uses camera and radar technology to automatically initiate subtle braking or steering when entering curves or to increase distance from other bicyclists, vehicles, or pedestrians.
If you begin to drift without a turn signal, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist will live up to its name. However, Lane Tracing Assist can provide subtle steering adjustments to help ensure you don’t drift in the first place. Other Toyota models, like the 2024 Corolla, don’t contain standard Lane Tracing Assist and Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic alert tech.
Automatic High Beams prevent you from blinding passing traffic at night, and Road Sign Assist keeps you aware of vital posted road information, like speed limits, even if you pass certain signs without reading them.
Available safety features
Optional safety features within the 2025 Camry include:
- Traffic Jam Assist
- Front Cross-Traffic Alert
- Front and Rear Parking Assist w/ Automatic Braking
While these features are capable, they run up this Camry’s cost more than we’d like to see.

Below is a list of each of the 2025 Camry’s four trims, including their starting prices and some highlight-worthy features characterizing each variant.

When entering SE territory, wheels increase in size to 18”, and you’ll receive a black sport mesh front grille in addition to SofTex upholstery.
Camry XLE – $33,400
The larger 12.3” central touchscreen comes standard within the XLE, along with heated/ventilated front seats featuring leather and microfiber trim.
Camry XSE – $34,600
Toyota’s peak 2025 Camry trim, the XSE, contains 19” smoked gray and black-finished alloy wheels, sport-tuned suspension, and an exhaust with dual chrome tips.
Warranty information
Toyota provides 2025 Toyota Camry owners with a 36-month or 36,000-mile warranty, whichever comes first, a 60-month or 60,000-mile powertrain warranty, and 24-hour roadside assistance for 2 years and unlimited miles. Hybrid component protection lasts 96 months or 100,000 miles.
Final verdict
Toyota’s Camry is on track to repeat its title for the US’ most popular mid-size sedan with the model’s 2025 production year. An increased number of wireless features, more hybrid power, and appealing exterior lines help make this vehicle an attractive option.
While added safety features can become costly, and the front seats could use additional comfort, these drawbacks don’t overshadow this Toyota’s strengths. You can also give yourself additional front seat comfort via optional features like heated and ventilated front seats. The 2025 Camry is a mid-size sedan worthy of an 8.6/10 overall rating.
