Ford Maverick
MotoPickers Rating: 8.5/10
The Maverick might not have the dazzling bling of other Ford rides, but don’t be fooled. This modestly sized truck is blending boundaries and changing the game of what trucks should be. It’s affordable, it’s practical, and it’s fun. It’s a breath of fresh air in the world of everyday cars. And the cherry on top? This Maverick base model holds the title for the most budget-friendly hybrid available in the U.S. What’s not to like!
Toyota Tacoma
MotoPickers Rating: 8.5/10
Looking dapper with its macho and sporty visual energy, the Tacoma doesn’t need to sweat it to outshine the rest. Its charm lies in being straightforward, dependable, and tough as nails. Perfectly ticking the boxes for truck and off-road enthusiasts. If you’re new to off-road, be sure to check it out.
Ford F-150
MotoPickers Rating: 9/10
Splurging on a pickup like you would on a luxury car might seem absurd at first. But there are rare vehicles that make it seem sensible, and the majestic Ford F-150 is one such ride. It’s superb. This pickup is bursting at the seams with clever features that, coupled with its colossal capability, make the $80K price tag a good deal. This is a gloriously powerful and fast machine. It’s a class-altering game-changer.
Ram Power Wagon
MotoPickers Rating: 8.7/10
No matter if you’re going for the feature-loaded Power Wagon or picking the 2500 Tradesman and jazzing it up with the Power Wagon kit – you’re in for a behemoth bargain. There’s no other hefty pickup out there that can juggle all the tricks that the Power Wagon does. And it does it all with such flair and personality. This is a truck that deserves to be even better known.
Hyundai Tucson Hybrid
MotoPickers Rating: 8.5/10
The Tucson Hybrid takes care of compact crossover tasks like a pro. It’s roomy, fuel-savvy, and assures a smooth, safe journey for the family. But unlike most rivals, it does all this wearing a stylish look, oozing a high-end vibe, and suggesting its price tag is much higher than it is. In addition, it manages to be fun and a half to whip around, so keen drivers will get multipurpose bang for their buck.
Genesis GV70
MotoPickers Rating: 8.8/10
Genesis may still be the new luxury kid on the block – their first solo vehicle only hit the streets in 2017 and they ventured into the SUV scene just last year. But their GV70 is a brave and highly commendable challenge to the bigger names. It doesn’t just undercut heavyweights like the BMW X3 or Audi Q5 on price. It also absolutely outshines them in areas of performance – all while keeping your wallet fuller too!
Kia Telluride
MotoPickers Rating: 8.6/10
With plush luxuries without the hefty cost, the Telluride outshines most rival value brands in the same price bracket. Unless you’re splashy enough to afford a Lincoln Navigator or have a relentless craving for overpaying in life, the Telluride definitely deserves a spot on your three-row SUV pick list. We think it’ll surprise every sceptic and turn doubters into admirers.
GMC Yukon
MotoPickers Rating: 8.6/10
General Motors churns out some rad full-size SUVs across various brands. But our top pick? The GMC Yukon. It nabs the style trophy from Chevy Tahoe, without a steep price hike. It exudes a touch of class – we think there’s something almost Rolls Royce about that grille – but keeps its price attainable for those who keep sensible control of their wallets!
Ford Bronco
MotoPickers Rating: 9.1/10
The Bronco had the guts to step on Jeep Wrangler’s turf. And when it did so, Ford absolutely nailed it! Ford are a brand enjoying a minor golden age of SUVs and Trucks at the moment. The Bronco screams ‘cool, powerful and masculine’, just as we had hoped it might. It has given the Wrangler a serious run for its money.
Genesis GV80
MotoPickers Rating: 9.1/10
The Genesis GV80 is a sight for sore eyes. It’s uniquely smooth and lushly sculpted. With that standout grille, double-lighting signature, and top-notch materials, it may at first glance be assumed to be a Bentley. Its grill is even more commandingly arresting than the GMC Yukon. In fact, Genesis smartly snagged their lead designer straight from Bentley’s team, so this is a vehicle with a real sense of class and power.
Lexus LX 600
MotoPickers Rating: 9/10
The Lexus LX 600 is a gem, and this LX is extra shiny precisely because it’s one of the few vehicles around that is supremely multipurpose. You can drive the kids to school, conquer mountains effortlessly, and feel like you’re being chauffeured to work in luxury. This is a great accomplishment by Lexus, and it deserves its accolades.
Toyota Sienna
MotoPickers Rating: 8.4/10
The fresh-out-of-the-oven Toyota Sienna isn’t just a pretty face. It’s got a neat trick up its sleeve that most rivals – minivan or three-row SUV – can’t brag about: an exhilarating combination of impressive fuel economy and all-wheel drive in one package. In many respects it’s a game-changer that can make you rethink the minivan idea.
Honda Civic
MotoPickers Rating: 8.8/10
Never bypass a brand-new Civic! This new model is excellent. It delivers in all the areas you would expect from a Honda, offering superb handling, sweet value, a trendy interior and it offers two stick-shift variants! Its design is also a significant improvement and we think it’s now among the most stylish cars in its class.
Genesis G70
MotoPickers Rating: 9.3/10
If you have not yet got to grips with Genesis, we suggest you do so! The Genesis G70 is a serious deal in the luxury sports sedan scene. But it’s not just about superb value. With its glorious looks, top-marque interiors, wondrous drive, and strong engine, this silky new entrant to the segment can stand toe-to-toe with the better known marques from Germany, and in many ways outshine them. We actually think it’s more beautiful than many current Audis!
Honda Accord
MotoPickers Rating: 8.9/10
Honda may have ditched the stick-shift on the Accord, but you still get luxury car vibes and performance without breaking the bank. There’s a reason why the Accord made it to Car and Driver’s 10 Best list an unbelievable 36 times. It’s because very few cars have ever managed to deliver so strikingly well with such consistency, reliability and ability. The Accord is a minor automotive marvel!
Mercedes E-class
MotoPickers Rating: 9.5/10
The E-Class has hit the sweet spot in the Mercedes lineup for years. It’s gorgeous inside, and its engine borders on the sublime. It manages to be a silky smooth luxury sedan with ease, but it can also offer you up a roaring 600-horsepower road-warrior to match the very best around. Few other cars have ever managed a balance like that. It is also outstandingly designed and its street-appeal is perennial.
Mercedes S-Class
MotoPickers Rating: 9.5/10
In a world where SUVs, crossovers and even pickup trucks have become the go-to choices for luxury shoppers, taking a spin in the swanky new S-Class is like a breath of fresh air. It’ll make you remember why opting for a luxury sedan over the usual suspects can be so irresistible. The S-Class is among the very finest widely available cars ever built and the current crop of models is glorious. Never overlook Mercedes!
Subaru Outback
MotoPickers Rating: 8.8/10
A number of brands try to ace the blend of car-like agility and SUV-like versatility and toughness that we all like and need. But not all hit the bullseye, especially at a price that doesn’t burn a hole in your pocket. The Subaru Outback is the exception! It’s got room to spare, off-road ability to rival many SUVs, and it’s fun to drive, without guzzling gas. It’s an underrated all-rounder and it deserves its strong Rating.
Audi RS6 Avant
MotoPickers Rating: 9.5/10
With Mercedes having benched the AMG E 63 S wagon for now, other marques have a shot at the limelight. And it’s great news that Audi has brought the RS6 Avant stateside! With 591 horsepower and a stellar AWD system, it’s magnificent to drive. 0-60 mph takes just 3.1 seconds, and yet in other modes it will cruise you along like a potentate being chauffeured by the gods. An outstanding achievement.
Porsche 911
MotoPickers Rating: 10/10
As regular MotoPickers know, we don’t often award a perfect 10 at MotoPickers. We like to think there’s always a tweak to be improved upon! But if ever there was a car that deserves it, for doing exactly what it intended to perfection, it’s the 911. The Porsche 911 didn’t become the standard sports car for nothing. The latest model is like the old ones, but on steroids. It’s stronger, speedier, handles like a dream, is packed with futuristic tech, and is even environmentally friendly. It’s a miracle of design and engineering and if you can ever drive one or own one, do so as if you’re life depended on it!
Volkswagen Golf GTI
MotoPickers Rating: 8.5/10
The 8th generation GTI is like the classic GTI we know and love, just with a little extra intelligence. This ride still boasts its trademark speed, gusto and agile handling and the steering precision is flawless. Once you’re behind the wheel, it all feels effortless. It’s another fine edition of a classic car that has satisfied millions for decades. The 8th Gen is not our favourite VW Golf design, and we think this GTi model looks too tame, but there’s no denying the engineering underneath.
Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing
MotoPickers Rating: 9/10
The CT5-V Blackwing cranks out a whopping 668 horsepower from its supercharged 6.2-liter V8. To put it in perspective, this beast packs more punch than Cadillac’s racer, the DPi-V.R! Plus, it’s fitted with a traction control system that’ll make any racing league cry foul. Few cars take you by surprise more than this Cadillac. It looks demure, but it’s actually a wild at heart beast that is close to matchless when it comes to speed and power.
Volvo V60 Recharge
MotoPickers Rating: 8.8/10
The V60 Recharge practically screams “dream car for moms and dads!” And it truly is. Volvo has juiced it up for 2024 with a hefty 455 hp engine that’ll whip you from 0 to 60 in 4.3 seconds flat. Plus, a bigger battery allows for 41 miles of pure EV driving. And the icing on the cake is that it’s safe, roomy, comes with all-wheel drive and won’t make you squint with flashy chrome trim. It’s fast, safe class unlike any other brand can manage.
Jeep Wrangler 4xe
MotoPickers Rating: 9/10
The Hemi V8-fueled Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 will surely charm its share of die-hard fans even further. In fact, the hybrid Wrangler 4xe arguably takes the crown for the best Wrangler ever. The extra power makes it a great drive on and off the asphalt. It can cover a 20-mile round trip commute without guzzling a single drop of gas, and yet you feel you are always in a car whose spirit is in the great tradition of rollicking petrolhead fun.
Kia EV6
MotoPickers Rating: 9.4/10
Kia could’ve played it safe with a basic crossover EV. But instead hey raised the bar with the daring EV6. With its fierce, sporty design and equally dynamic and thrilling driving experience, this ride is as good as it looks. It deserves to be a game-changing car for Kia, and at MotoPickers we commend Kia mightily for having given the electric age a new beauty to enjoy. This is a fabulously attractive car.
Mercedes-Benz EQS
MotoPickers Rating: 9.6/10
While the Mercedes EQS may not boast sports-car vibes, its rock-solid ride and comfort levels are the stuff of dreams for most luxury cars. Even Bentley and Rolls-Royce engineers would acknowledge that a little heft aids the ride and sound-proofing. And thanks to its meaty 108-kWh battery pack at the base, the EQS has plenty of that heft to offer. It is also a swooping beauty to match the very best designs out there today.
Porsche Taycan
MotoPickers Rating: 10/10
No zippy sedan or sports car feels as lively as the Taycan in everyday driving. The Porsche’s electric engines are always on their toes, and ready to deliver maximum power at your command, regardless of speed. To get that from a regular gas car, you’d need to keep the engine humming near its power cap non-stop, but the Taycan shows us that with electric the future of fast and sublimely powerful driving is better than we had ever dreamed possible. A tremendous achievement, totally deserving another MotoPickers 10/10!
Ford Mustang Mach-E
MotoPickers Rating: 9.5/10
The Mach E nails practicality with a crossover design, choice of battery sizes, and optional all-wheel-drive, gifting you with tons of room, great range, and all-weather reliability. Not to forget, slapped with the Mustang emblem and jazzed up in sporty attire, it’s a ride with cultural significance, potent intent and street-cred to match the best.
BMW iX
MotoPickers Rating: 9/10
The BMW iX is a great match for those eyeing a large electric luxury SUV. It’s speedy, fun to drive, striking to look at, and it’s crammed with smart tech. It sits well on the road and has a more appealing look than some recent BMW larger vehicles.
Ford F-150 Lightning
MotoPickers Rating: 9/10
The F-150 Lightning is a spitting image of the standard F-150. It’s every bit as rugged. It packs a power punch, even outdoing the F-150 Raptor on horsepower and torque. Plus, it’s got handy features that up its game for truck users. And the cherry on the top is that despite jacked-up prices elsewhere, it won’t stretch your wallet much more than a regular pickup. It’s a terrific set of abilities for modern living.
